This course will be delivered by a licenced Mental Health First Aid Wales trainer. Mental illnesses often start in adolescence or early adulthood, and it is important to detect problems early to ensure the young person is properly treated and supported. The course is suitable for anyone pursuing a career in teaching and learning, or those already in roles such as school staff, parents, guardians, sport coaches and youth workers. It provides learners with the knowledge on how to assist adolescents who are developing a mental health problem, experiencing a worsening of a mental health problem or in a mental health crisis.

Prerequisites: Adult Mental Health First Aid training must be completed.
