Unlock £2000 Funding to grow your team
Thanks to a new initiative from Cardiff Capital Region and the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund, small businesses could receive a £2,000 recruitment incentive towards a new recruit. This can be used to support recruitment of an apprentice to offer apprenticeships in digital and net zero roles alongside a tailored training package from ACT and ALS Training as part of the Cardiff and Vale College group.
Eligibility criteria
To qualify for this funding, your business must meet the following:
- Based in one of these locations: Blaenau Gwent, Bridgend, Caerphilly, Cardiff, Merthyr Tydfil, Monmouthshire, Newport, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Torfaen, or Vale of Glamorgan.
- Employ less than 50 employees.
- Offer a new, 12-month minimum contract with at least 30 hours per week, paid at the real living wage (£12/hour minimum).
- The new role should be focused on net zero, advanced manufacturing, or digital skills.
- Recruiting a new post or vacant post, not covering sickness, maternity or replacing a role recently made redundant.
- Recruiting a new employee aged 18 or over.
- Not in receipt of any other funding for the recruitment of this post and cannot apply for support retrospectively for recently employed individuals.
How to Apply:
- Submit Your Application by November 30, 2024.
- Ensure the new recruit’s start date is post-application approval.
- Confirm your eligibility with Cardiff and Vale College (CAVC) and
- Once approved, CAVC will issue your Award to kickstart your recruitment (positions must be filled by 1st Feb 2025)
